First, we transported the material over to the site. Next, we raked it out so that it was an even 2” thick and followed the grade. And finally, we learned how to tamp it down to remove as much air as possible and prepare for the next layer: 2” of decomposed granite (DG).
This poster shows how both the site has changed as well as images of the materials and construction process. The construction drawings show what the final path will be (including the DG) and how the path relates to the dry stone retaining wall. Working on this project was a great learning experience and definitely made the different parts of my construction drawings more tangible. It was a lot of hard work (especially the tamping) but absolutely rewarding! I look forward to graduating there in less than two weeks!
