Air plant sale is today until 4PM (or until we sell out)! We are located on Upper Sproul near the Golden Bear Cafe. Most of the terrariums have been sold, but we still have plenty of individual tillandsias for sale.
The air plants have arrived, and we have started to assemble terrariums and other small planters. Remember to visit our plant sale this Friday, October 10th from 10AM-4PM at Upper Sproul, UC Berkeley.
CED students are welcome to visit the 3rd floor studio and reach out to Kushal, Shantel, Erin, Jason, or Joanna for pre-sale purchases. In an effort to lay out the groundwork for our site, we staked our different schemes to calculate scope and cost of materials. Mike was a great help in estimating the amount of stone we would need to build a proposed stair.
Along with being the teaching and research garden for the Department of Landscape Architecture, Blake Garden also welcomes community volunteers. Here, a hardworking volunteer removes a mayten tree.
The design proposal focused on connecting the site to the existing overlook with the implementation of a low stone wall that reveals itself from a linear grass planting. The low wall that also bring the grass up along with it defines the ridge and connects the spaces. The reconfigured paths are made up of stone pavers of various sizes in between crush angular rock (northern end) and native pollinator shrub (southern end). Native pollinator shrubs will be installed to stabilize the slope as well.
Hello All!
UC Berkeley's LA 254: Low-Water Use Plant Design course will be designing an adaptive restoration project to be installed by the end of the Fall Semester. We need your help to finance the project. Please contact Joanna Salem at [email protected] for ways you can donate. Thank you! |
