The semester has come to an end, and our class has completed the first phase of our design/build project. We've completed so much in such a short time.
Shout out to our Build Day volunteers: Alexa Vaughn, Gino Orlando, Janet Gonzalez Partida, and Geneva Redmond! That you for all your amazing help throughout the day.
We battled the rose bush and the Ligustrum stump. We dug a lot of trenches, sowed a lot of seeds. The terraces look great. Our site looks very different than when we first began.
Next semester, we will begin planting native shrubs and grasses and hardscaping, including the viewing area and a stone staircase.
Also, another round of thank you's for the continued support from our sponsors and donors: The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF), the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning (LAEP), the Beatrix Farrand Committee, Virginia Lim, and Blake Garden. Lastly, a big thank you to our instructor Dawn Kooyumjian for making the class possible!
Until next semester. Happy Holidays!
